EMT Rules, Procedures, and Expectations  

Emergency Medical Technician Basic

Class Rules

 

  • Don’t hurt others either physically or mentally in my class.

  • Meet the deadlines for all class work.  Late work will receive a 0 grade.  No excuses.

  • Be on time, ready to work; have materials ready.

  • If you miss class, I expect a written excuse from your parents

  • I will dismiss each class, do not get up until I dismiss.

  • To learn Spanish is a process, visual and hearing is imperative.  You must listen and observe. Avoid conversations not related to Spanish class.

  • We do Spanish work during Spanish period. 

 

Procedures

 

  • Every student will have an assigned desk.  You are not allowed to switch desks during the year unless you have teacher’s approval

  • As you arrive in class, direct yourself to your desk, sit down and get materials ready.

  • When you see an overhead on with activities, start working on it as you arrive to the class. 

  • I will take attendance every day, every period.  Be prompt to answer when called.

  • You are responsible to ask the teacher for the material that you missed on the days you were absent and make up the work by the deadline set by the teacher. 

 

 

Expectations

 

In this class you will learn the basic skills to prepare you to respond to an emergency.

 

You will learn to provide care to to an injured victim (muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons).

You will learn to perform CPR (infant,child,and adult).

And you will learn how to use and AED.

 

We will have several practice sessions where maturity is expected.

You will be graded in four categories. Each one with 25% for your overall grade.

Students must meet deadlines in order to get 100% of the grade.  Late work is accepted at a modified percent grade.  





Grading Policy for Physical Education

 

Participation 50%

Daily work 50%

 

I encourage all students to put their best effort in the activities of the class.  It is not the winning it is about taking part of the activity.  The use of tennis shoes and socks are required daily.  Water bottle is required.



Emergency  Medical Technician Basic

 

Daily Work - 25%

Activity Practice Drills - 25%

Quizzes - 25%

Tests/ Projects -25%

 

In order to actively participate and practice all the emergency drills (  example: stop bleeding, broken bones, etc. ) every student must bring all their supplies required at the beginning of the school year.  

 


PE Rules, Procedures, and Expectations  

 

Class Rules

  • Avoid conversations not related to PE class.

  • PE is a state required class.  You must participate in daily activities in class.

  • Use of profane language will not be tolerated

 

 

Procedures

 

  • Every student will have an assigned spots in the gym.  You are not allowed to switch spots during the year unless you have teacher’s approval

  • As you arrive to the gym, leave your backpacks in the designated area, get your appropriate clothes and direct yourself to your spot and sit down.

  • I will take attendance everyday, every period.  Be prompt to answer when called.

  • You are responsible to bring a water bottle, or hydrate yourself before or after class.

  • You are responsible to go to the restroom, before or after class.

 

Expectations

 

  • In PE, you will be graded in two categories.  Each one  will be worth 50% of your overall grade:

Participation and activity level

  • You are expected to participate in all the activities.

  • You are expected to dress appropriately to class.  Wear comfortable clothes.

  • You are required to use running shoes (tennis shoes) with socks to prevent foot injuries. 

  • Active participation is a must in class.

  • You are expected to be respectful and act maturely among peers as well as teacher in PE activities. 

  • Maintain personal hygiene.  Keep personal care items in your backpack and use after class.

  • You are expected to participate in all the activities.  We must develop all our senses when learning a new language: listening, speaking, reading and writing and sometimes seeing a visual image.
